Good morning to one and all!

Today, we stand united under the tricolor sky to celebrate the 77th Republic Day of our beloved India — a day that echoes the triumph of democracy, the power of the people, and the unbreakable spirit of a nation that refused to remain chained.

On this historic day in 1950, India awoke to a new dawn. After centuries of colonial rule and the hard-fought freedom of 1947, we did not stop at independence. We chose to become a sovereign, socialist, secular, democratic republic. The Constitution, painstakingly drafted under the visionary leadership of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar — the architect of modern India — came into force on 26 January 1950. This was no ordinary document; it was a sacred promise — a promise of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity for every citizen, regardless of caste, creed, gender, or region.

Why 26 January? Because this date carries the fire of our freedom struggle. On 26 January 1930, at the Lahore Session of the Indian National Congress, under the leadership of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, we boldly declared Purna Swaraj — complete independence. That pledge of 1930 found its fulfillment in 1950 when India became a true republic, where the power rests not with a king or a viceroy, but with We, the People of India.

Every year on this day, the nation comes alive with pride. The magnificent parade on Kartavya Path in Delhi showcases our military might, our cultural diversity, and our technological progress. Tableaux from every state remind us that India's strength lies in its unity in diversity — a beautiful mosaic of languages, traditions, festivals, and dreams, all woven together by the threads of one Constitution.

But Republic Day is not just about parades, salutes, and celebrations. It is a solemn reminder of our responsibilities. In a world facing division, inequality, climate crises, and rapid change, our Constitution remains our greatest anchor. It guarantees fundamental rights, but it also demands fundamental duties. It promises justice — social, economic, and political — yet that justice must be earned through our actions every single day.

Dear friends, as young citizens of the world's largest democracy, we stand at a pivotal moment. India is rising — as a global economic powerhouse, a leader in technology, space exploration, and renewable energy. Yet challenges remain: poverty that still lingers in shadows, education that must reach every child, gender equality that must become reality, not just a slogan, and environmental protection that cannot wait.

As Mahatma Gandhi said:
"The true source of rights is duty. If we all discharge our duties, rights will not be far to seek."

And as Dr. Ambedkar reminded us:
"However good a Constitution may be, if those who are implementing it are not good, it will prove to be bad."

So, the real question on this Republic Day is not what the Constitution gives us — but what we give back to the nation.

Let the tricolor fly high in our hearts. Let the ideals of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity guide our every step. Let us resolve to make India not just strong and prosperous, but truly just, inclusive, and compassionate.
