The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has officially released the CDS-1 2026 examination notification on 10 December 2025 on its official website (upsc.gov.in / upsconline.nic.in).

🧑‍🎓 Eligibility Criteria (Basic)

1. Nationality

Must be a citizen of India, or a subject of Nepal/Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who came before Jan 1, 1962.

2. Age Limits

Academy	Age (as on 1 Jan 2027)
IMA (Indian Military Academy)	19–24 yrs
INA (Indian Naval Academy)	19–22 yrs
AFA (Air Force Academy)	19–24 yrs (with relaxations if applicable)
OTA (Officers’ Training Academy)	19–25 yrs

3. Educational Qualification

Academy	Qualification
IMA & OTA	Degree in any discipline from a recognized university
INA	Engineering degree (B.E./B.Tech)
AFA	Degree with Physics & Maths at 10+2 or BE/BTech

4. Marital & Other Conditions

IMA, INA & AFA: Unmarried males only.
OTA: Unmarried male & female candidates accepted.

📝 Exam Pattern & Syllabus Overview

The CDS written exam is offline (pen & paper) and consists of objective-type questions.

For	Papers	Marks	Duration
IMA / INA / AFA	English, General Knowledge, Mathematics	100 each	2 hrs per paper
OTA	English, General Knowledge	100 each	2 hrs per paper

👉 Elementary Math paper is not applicable for OTA candidates.
👉 Negative marking applies for incorrect answers.

SC / ST / Female: Exempted
