UPESSC PRT Assistant Teacher Recruitment 2026 – Educational Qualification
Assistant Teacher (Primary – Urban)
Candidates must have a Graduation degree from a university established by law in India or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Government.
Candidates must also possess a recognized teacher-training qualification such as BTC, BTC (Urdu), Special BTC, 2-year Diploma in Special Education approved by RCI, 4-year B.El.Ed., or a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) recognized under NCTE Regulations, 2002.
Candidates must also have passed the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) conducted by the State Government or Government of India.
Assistant Teacher (Attached Primary)
Candidates must have a Graduation degree from a recognized/deemed university/institution along with BTC or D.El.Ed. from an NCTE-recognized course.
Candidates must also have successfully passed the TET conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Government or Government of India for Classes 01 to 05.
Note: BTC course is currently conducted under the name D.El.Ed.
